Publicly known as CVE-2018-8140, this vulnerability has been given a severity rating of Important by Microsoft. Normally something this invasive would be rated as critical, but, in this case, physical access to the device is needed. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could execute commands with elevated permissions.With the latest patch Tuesday release, Microsoft has pushed an update to address this easily exploitable vulnerability in Cortana.
